COVID-19 booster dose has started to be administered to high-risk populations such as the frontliners, the elderly, and high-risk individuals for example those with multiple comorbidities.

There are a few reasons why the COVID-19 booster shot may be recommended for general which are:

• For individual who does not respond well to the previous shot such as people who are immunocompromised
• The immunity build from the previous vaccination wane or is reduced over time
• If the current dosage of vaccination does not adequately work for the newly emerging variant
